Esports This Week: Our Picks for July 27 – August 2

FNCS 2026 · Major 2 · Grand Finals Day 1 (OCE 4:11 AM, EU 11:10 AM, NA Central 5:10 PM)

The headline for competitive Fortnite this week: the FNCS 2026 Major 2 Grand Finals, a two-day showdown across Saturday and Sunday. Fortnite went back to duos for 2026, and the format rewards consistency — twelve games over the weekend, points for placement plus every elimination, with only the very best pairs surviving to the end. The top finishers punch their tickets to the season-ending Global Championship, so there's more on the line than the trophy.

Why watch: Major 1 this year was won at a LAN in Düsseldorf by the Norwegian duo Malibuca & Vico — but the online regional Majors have been wide open, and duos scoring means a single high-kill Victory Royale can flip the standings late. It streams free on twitch.tv/Fortnite and YouTube.

OWCS Midseason Championship · Semifinals & Grand Finals

The OWCS Midseason Championship is Overwatch's big midseason meeting, played this week in Paris as part of the Esports World Cup — 16 of the world's best teams, a $1 million prize pool, and a bracket that runs from Wednesday's group stage all the way to Sunday's Grand Finals.

Why watch: it's the first time in a while the top Overwatch regions all collide with this much on the line, and the single-elimination back half is exactly the kind of high-stakes Overwatch that produces momentum swings and clutch tank play. It's on the official Overwatch Esports channels.

EWC 2026 Warzone · Resurgence Series Championship — Finals (Match Point)

Call of Duty's other discipline gets its EWC moment first: the Warzone Resurgence Series Championship wraps up this week in Paris. Thirty-two of the best Warzone trios fight through a group and survival format for a $1 million prize pool, with $400,000 waiting for the winners on finals day.

Why watch: Warzone at the top level is chaos with a scoreboard — fast rotations, third-partying and match-point pressure as the placement points tighten. It streams free on the Esports World Cup channels.

Esports World Cup · MLBB Mid Season Cup Knockout Day 4 (Grand Final)

Mobile esports takes center stage with the MLBB Mid Season Cup knockouts at the Esports World Cup, building to Saturday's Grand Final. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang draws enormous audiences worldwide, and the MSC brings the strongest regions together in a single-elimination bracket that ends in a best-of-seven final.

Why watch: if you've never seen top-level MLBB, the pace and team-fighting are a genuinely different flavor of MOBA — and the MSC is one of the year's marquee international titles. It's on the EWC's channels in Paris.

BLAST Bounty Summer · Grand Final (Bo5)

For Counter-Strike, the week runs out at a LAN in Malta: BLAST Bounty Summer reaches its Sunday Grand Final after quarterfinals and semifinals earlier in the week. BLAST's "bounty" format is a twist on the usual bracket — teams pick their own path through the draw — which keeps the matchups unpredictable right to the end.

Why watch: it's a compact, elite eight-team field settled over a single weekend, and the best-of-five final is proper big-stage CS2. It streams free on BLAST's channels and blast.tv.
