How We Verify Our Esports Listings

Accurate listings are the whole point of EsportsLive.net. Here's exactly how we build and check them, so you know how much to trust a given entry.

Where our data comes from

We compile listings from primary sources wherever possible:

Leagues and publishers — official calendars from Riot (LoL, VALORANT), Valve (Dota 2, CS2), the Call of Duty League, Rocket League Esports, the Esports World Cup and dozens more.
Tournament organizers — published schedules from BLAST, ESL/IEM, PGL, PGL, and event operators, plus the official Twitch and YouTube channels that carry each broadcast.
Liquipedia — the community-maintained esports encyclopedia, which we use to cross-check brackets, dates, rosters and results against the primary sources above.

When two sources conflict, we defer to the league or organizer for event date and format and to the broadcasting channel for which platform carries it, and we re-check as the event approaches.

Start times & time zones

We store every start time in US Eastern Time and convert it to your local time zone automatically in your browser, so you never have to do the math across a wall of regions. International matches often air at odd US hours — the Site handles that conversion for you.

"TBD" times

If you see TBD instead of a start time, it means the exact broadcast time has not yet been published — which is normal for matches more than a week or two out, and for stages whose start depends on how earlier series finish. We deliberately show TBD rather than invent a time, and we fill it in as soon as an official time is confirmed.

Watch links

Each listing's "watch" link points to the Twitch or YouTube channel carrying that match. Wherever a channel exposes a stable per-event link, we link straight to it; otherwise we link to the official live channel. Some deep links only become available close to the broadcast.

Event history & facts

On our per-event pages and previews we include background — tournament history, past champions, prize pools, formats and current-season form. This information is researched and verified against real sources, or left out entirely. Because current-season results move fast, we research them live and cite them; we do not fabricate champions, standings or statistics. A blank section means we could not confirm the fact, not that we forgot it. This standard is set out in our Editorial Policy.
